Medical Transcriptionist II
In this role, you will be a medical language specialist who interprets, edits, audits, transcribes, and ensures quality of dictated, speech-recognized, and clinician-created information in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services. The ability to work remotely will be available, but you must reside within the service area.
At least three years of experience in transcribing acute-care hospital dictation that includes the following work types: H&Ps, consults, operative reports, discharge summaries, imaging studies, and pathology reports
At least two years of experience editing speech-recognized hospital dictation that includes the following work types: H&Ps, consults, operative reports, discharge summaries, imaging studies, and pathology reports
CHDS, RHDS, and/or CMT required upon hire/transfer
The ability to accurately and consistently transcribe medical dictation in a production-oriented environment
The ability to accurately and consistently edit speech-recognized medical dictation in a production-oriented environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to identify and solve problems related to producing health care documentation
The ability to pass a timed transcription and speech-recognition editing test in the department
The ability to pass a written editing skills test in the department
A mastery level of knowledge of pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility
Mastery level of knowledge in English grammar, spelling, editing, composition, and formatting of medical reports
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications Include:
Five years of recent experience transcribing acute-care hospital dictation that includes the following work types: H&P, consults, operative reports, discharge summaries, imaging studies, and pathology reports
Three years of recent experience editing speech-recognized hospital dictation that includes the following work types: H&P, consults, operative reports, discharge summaries, imaging studies, and pathology reports
One year of recent experience as a clinician-created documentation integrity auditor
The ability to navigate in an EPIC electronic health care record
The ability to utilize the eScription dictation/transcription platform
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
